: (1) The amount of measures and weights in use before the coming into force of this Act can be converted into standard measures or weights at the proportional rates mentioned in the schedule.
(2) The Government of Nepal may, by publishing a notice in the Nepal Gazette, set a proportional rate for converting the quantities of measurements or weights other than the measurements or weights mentioned in sub-section (1) into standard measurements or weights.
(3) The amount of any measure or weight other than the standard amount or measure mentioned in any Act or any rule order or notification under the Act or any contract or document shall be deemed to have been converted into the proportional rate mentioned in the schedule or in the notice issued under sub-section (2) according to the situation.
(4) Any measure or weight expressed in connection with a transaction or transaction shall be converted into a standard amount or measure under this section in the manner prescribed for such transaction or transaction.
